BECOMING A LEADER

Leadership is not in position, like the globally renowned leadership expert has said, Dr John Maxwell, he said POSITION is the lowest form of leadership. To become a leader, there are a few things that will be expected from you;

1. PROBLEM SOLVING
Leaders are ordinary men who have discovered and developed themselves over time, they have grown and sharpen their skills and abilities to solve problems, if you can’t solve people’s problem don’t compound it, and you should know that if you can heal yourself, you can heal the world. Learning to solve peoples problems is one of the hallmark of true leadership.

2. STEWARDSHIP
Stewardship is your surest path to greatness. Faithful stewards grow faster into leadership any day.
• Serving God with the gifts, talents and treasures he has given you
• Serving the people God has called you to lead
Service, service and even more service is what leadership represent, keep serving people, then truly you're in leadership.

3. MENTORING:
Mentoring is every leaders delight, mentoring is where you find your greatest strength and covering. A headless head has no future. Never follow a man who is following nobody. If flying is your choice? Then you need;

- A Father?
- A Mentor?
- A Life Coach?

In having mentors, you must also have protégées, as you take in from your mentors, I strongly advice you also find a way to pour out into others, pouring out builds your capacity for more, and helps you to be a better you.

Impartation of grace is cheap with your mentor’s hands on your head, you need a father to speak you into your destiny, the baton for the next race is in the hands of fathers, get a father so you can have a baton passed on to you, to run in the race.

I like to also say here that you must mind who your mentor is, everyone can't be your mentor, Fathers and mentors make the yoke easy for you to carry and the burden easy to bear. If your life is not getting any better with a mentor, check it he may be a tormentor in disguise. If the task you carry is killing you, watch it, you may be under a task master without knowing.

FATAL ERRORS LEADERS MAKE
a. Being a paranoid (having a sense of insecurity and threatened by the success of the people you're leading)
b. Pride and Greed
c. They are headless head
d. They use people instead of raising them
e. They mystify things

10 SPECIAL LEADERSHIP TIPS
1. Good leadership is not advancing ones course or oneself, its about advancing your team.
2. Leaders become great not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others.
3. Leadership is action, not position.
4. When people feel liked, loved, cared for, included, valued and trusted, they begin to work together with their leader and other team member.
5. If you have integrity with people, you develop trust, the more trust you develop the stronger the relationship becomes.
- In times of difficulties, relationships are a shelter
- In times of opportunities, they are a launching pad
6. Good leaders must embrace both care and candor.
7. People buy into the leader first then the vision.
8. Bringing out the best in a person is always a catalyst for bringing out the best in a team.
9. Progress comes only from taking risks and making mistakes.
10. Leaders are measured by the calibre of leaders they raise and are developing, not the calibre of their own leadership strength and style.

One unique thing about leadership is all about being your best and giving your best at all time to help solve other people's problems.

What problem is your leadership solving?

  1. I like to know that there are still leadership who speak from the depth of experiential knowledge not just in a bid to motivate.
